Arthur Godfrey, WJSV, c1939

Arthur Godfrey was a prominent figure on morning radio in Washington DC over WJSV 1460kc, (Columbia Braoadcasting System), and his career spanned over 40 years. His success stemmed in large part from his informal on-air persona–he could say anything at any time, and his wit could target anyone (including sponsors).  Read more at RADIO HALL OF FAME
